Design Lead

This is a unique role in that Cue was founded by a designer who led all design initiatives for the company. This candidate will be taking over design leadership at Cue from its CEO and will be working closely with him every day.

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with CEO on design (who has been leading design at the company)
  • Be a leader - Cue is a design-led company and as a product designer you will be expected to lead projects and teams
  • Design and prototype simple and intuitive experiences
  • Contribute to all stages of the design process from user research to prototyping and shipping world-class products
  • Identify the needs of Cue users and improve on existing features
  • Help define the short and long-term roadmap for the product
  • Regularly give and receive feedback on design iterations
  • Work with other designers and engineers to oversee new features from concept to launch
  • Communicate design goals and specifications to the engineers responsible for building them


Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience designing and shipping mobile applications
  • Strong visual design skills and passion for interaction design
  • Ability to prototype interactive mobile experiences
  • A portfolio showcasing your work and strong design skills
  • Expert in Sketch or Figma
  • Passion for Cue's product and mission
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (you’ll be expected to clearly communicate design strategy to executives, engineers, and the rest of the company)
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Some technical background or a familiarity with software engineering
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous work environment
