Social Media / Marketing Intern

This position is in Carlstadt, NJ.

VGS/Studio D is excited to be expanding our design team to add a social media / marketing intern to the mix. We are looking for another team member to work closely with us and help create content based off of past projects for internal needs… Plus, you might get to work on some client facing design projects as well! This role will report up to the Art Directors, with additional guidance and direction from the President of Studio D.

Doing the deep dive:

+ From Diamonds to Donuts, we work with a range of small emerging brands to many of the top brands among most categories. In this position, you will be working in Studio D as a member who will be responsible helping to highlight projects ranging from developing brand identities / brand development to wayfinding, signage, menu board development and much more. We are a design studio that works in conjunction with our parent company, VGS, to bring our concepts to life and manufacture / roll out comprehensive design programs to real life environments. We’re looking for someone to take our large library of projects and help showcase them and bring them to life in static and digital / animated usage with a creative twist.


In this role, you will be accountable for:

Concepting

+ Immerse yourself into our library of projects, information, and imagery to create and showcase new captivating content or dust off some old ones to capture them with a new spirit.

+ Design concepts to fit within a strategy or brand

Execution (Design through Production)

+ Work with the creative team to execute a design concept through final production

+ Design a variety of things from intriguing on-brand social media posts to print collateral and more, edit photography, presentations, digital layouts, basic motion assets, and other assorted needs

+ Present work to the creative team, bringing a strong design POV

+ Own small scale projects independently and collaboratively 

+ See projects through to completion with guidance from the team

+ Create presentation materials for new business and client  presentations

+ Follow concepts as communicated by art director

+ Take exceptional notes and have a keen eye for attention to detail

REQUIRED:

You’ve Been In the Game For a Bit…

+ Minimum of 1-2 years experience designing

You’ve Created Some Gems...

+ Portfolio showcasing creative and well thought out concepts,  and ideation. 

+ Note: Portfolio should indicate your role on each project and the  other creative team members who contributed to and guided your work


You’re Down For Anything…

+ Graphic design and print layout

+ Illustration

+ Clean Typography / Layout

+ Copywriting / Hashtaggin’ skills

+ Familiarity with social platforms

+ …Show Us What You Got

You’ve Gone Beyond the Basics…

+ Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects,  and you maintain very well organized digital files

NOT REQUIRED, BUT ALWAYS A PLUS...

+ Studying towards a BA, BFA, or BS in Graphic Design, Marketing, or similar

+ Photography skills

+ Knowledge in CSS / HTML / Wordpress
