Your Mission 🚀

We're looking for a seasoned front end engineer to join our marketing team and to help build and maintain our website assets. We are constantly updating our website for design improvements and technical optimizations.

You will work closely with our design team, copywriters, product marketing managers, and marketing leaders to ensure the best experience across all Census domains.

Your responsibilities 🗓

  • You are comfortable writing front end code in a headless CMS like Gatsby, Next, etc. or using other platforms, like Hubspot.

  • Maintain and expand an ever-changing web style guide for internal reference

  • Work closely with design team to strategize unique, bespoke website solutions while maintaining accessibility

  • Utilize SEO partners to optimize web assets according to current best practices.

  • Work closely with marketing team to manage key metrics, website user permissions, content changes, and assist in performative testing

  • Ensure website reliability by performing monthly audits on all website assets and their CMS structures

  • Work with internal stakeholders to strategize the growth of all website assets into their next phase of hosting and CMS platforms

  • This role will also work on unique projects that would require some light backend work: building a micro app or product.

Here’s what our dream candidate looks like:

  • Attention to detail & performance - You don’t tolerate the websites your work on are slow or have some tiny UX issues on certain platforms.

  • An eye for design - You dabble in design, typically you like to expand on existing templates and brands to make it your own to help you ship faster.

  • You have seen success - Ideally, you have ~4 years of experience in front-end development and have experience working in a fast-growing startup.

  • Curiosity – Interest in learning and exploring, experimenting, and teaching others.

  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ) – Genuine desire to see other people succeed and help them get there.

  • Self-motivation – Desire to work in a startup environment without the structure of big companies.

  • You know your way around a tech stack – You keep up with the latest trends in frontend technologies and you know the inside out of react/vue/next/insert_latest_framework_du_jour and similar on the CSS side, from Bootstrap (😱) to Tailwind, you have an opinion on them all.

Compensation 💰

Salary $130,000 - $160,000
