We create “A ha!” and “Oh wow!” moments for our customers by helping them understand how visitors are interacting with their website so they can create better online customer experiences that help close the sale or generate leads.

Our platform helps our customers uncover insights that allow them to increase website conversion rates and solve hidden user experience challenges. We help the people who use our platform interact directly with their customers to answer questions, resolve issues and keep them coming back for more.

What’s a day in the life like?

Putting customers first is always our priority, but we’re known for having a relaxed, playful environment at Lucky Orange. On a typical day, you’ll find our team members helping customers, devising growth strategies, writing code and working with partners. We’re a work family that likes to take time to get to know one another better, challenge each other to a round of Mario Party or Super Smash Bros and recognize one another for a job well done.

As the Senior Product Designer on our team, your day will likely include:

  • Incorporating both internal and external feedback into the design of future product enhancements

  • Helping develop product strategy and vision supported by market analysis, customer needs, and input from internal stakeholders

  • Using business-level analytics as a jumping off point to see how UX can help reduce churn, improve customer lifetimes and uncover key product use insights shared by valuable customers

  • Working closely with developers to help prioritize and make trade-offs regarding user experience, business impact and technical scale

  • Understanding user behavior through qualitative and quantitative user research, and translating that research into insights that inform the team decision making process

  • Collaborating with marketing to advance and evolve the visual side of our brand identity, ensure design consistency, and assist with the development of branded material and assets as needed

What does it take?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to plan and lead concurrent projects across user research, product discovery and product development

  • A collaborative approach to solving problems that includes leading brainstorms, workshops and design reviews with internal teams and external users

  • Poses a pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to iterate rapidly to find the best solutions

  • 5+ years experience designing digital products

  • An online portfolio that shows a strong track record of shipping successful products from idea to completion

  • Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Invision

  • Ability to work in a (relaxed) office setting in Overland, Park, Kansas, during typical working hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday. This position is not eligible for a remote work arrangement.

  • Seriously, excellent verbal AND written communication

  • Experience working with concepts such as personalization and dynamic content, based on customer and user data

  • User centered design focused, and knowledge of Accessibility and ADA guidelines/compliance as it relates to websites and applications

  • An entrepreneurial spirit in which your take ownership of your product and work to continuously improve

  • Familiarity with the Shape Up product development process

  • Working knowledge of CSS/HTML/JS and familiarity with tools like GitHub
