Snapdocs is an early-stage technology platform tackling the $1.75 trillion U.S. mortgage market, developing modern software for an industry that still relies on fax machines and manila envelopes. We are backed by leading venture firms including Sequoia, Y Combinator, and SV Angel. Our goal is to bring a better home buying experience to one of the most important pillars of the US economy.
As our first in-house visual designer, you will be a leader on our design team. You will identify and effectively frame problems and opportunities, and own the design of large projects from opportunity to implementation. You will be responsible for designing a brand that reimagines real estate transactions with beautiful, modern experiences that put people first.

- We have the visual foundations of a strong brand, but our aspirations go far beyond the basics. How do we get to great from where we are now? What’s missing?
- Our in-product experience and outside-of-product experience look and feel different. What might we do to strengthen our brand and make our products visually stronger?
- Along with growing our design muscles within Snapdocs, we want to share our knowledge and experience with the rest of the design community. We want to be good citizens who help design grow and thrive.
As a key member of the design team you will have the opportunity to produce high quality, high impact work, and weave great design throughout Snapdocs. You will work with internal teams to define and prioritize problems to be solved, as well as maintain and suggest evolutions of our design system and existing style guides with a holistic consideration for the future of our brand. You will identify and help to organize design-led projects, events, and discussions, spreading design thinking and enthusiasm throughout Snapdocs and the wider design community. You will also run point on highly complex, critical projects that connect Snapdocs with the people who can most benefit from it.
Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of visual design experience (including layout, illustration, branding, icon design, and typography). You’ve lead projects big and small, and have mastery of tools like Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. And perhaps most important of all, you love working at a startup—where you’re an owner, your everyday contributions directly impact customers, and there’s still a whole lot to learn!
