JOB TITLE: WEB CONTENT MANAGER

LOCATION: TORONTO, ON

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the National Marketing Director, the Web Content Manager will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content on external website(s) and intranet to achieve business goals. Duties will also include building and sharing content to raise brand awareness and monitoring web traffic and metrics to identify best practices. You will develop a content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets, collaborate with all departments to plan and develop site content, and support FCR to achieve website compliance with WCAG and accessibility standards under the AODA. This role requires a willingness to touch on different areas of the business such as programming, website troubleshooting, website development/editing, testing for accessibility and usability and content creation and design. Understanding of Web development languages, accessibility best practices and tools and publishing tools is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare a long-term plan for content development, including standards and guidelines, based on business goals and input from stakeholders;

• Develop and oversee the information architecture of the external website(s) and intranet;

• Manage the development of website or full website redesigns;

• Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflow, update web content, improve, test or oversee testing and optimize accessibility and user experience;

• Identify technology innovations, new business practices, and third-party technology solutions;

• Develop, improve and mentor the skills of the people involved in website maintenance;

• Monitor performance of the website, and adapt content strategies accordingly to continually grow leads;

• Conduct functional, accessibility and usability testing, editing and quality checking of website and all content to ensure accuracy;

• Provide training to users on how to use and maintain web applications and content management systems;

• Provide technical support and assistance diagnosing and solving problems;

• Utilize analytics to evaluate end-to-end customer experience and provide detailed analytic reporting;

• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption, where appropriate;

• Plan and execute all web and SEO/SEM;

• Help promote the FCR brand and Leasing department through online content strategy;

• Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners - work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure functionality and accessibility of all digital assets;

• Manage budgets and vendors and

• Other duties as required and assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Required level of education and job-related experience:

• College diploma or university degree preferred

• Must have 3 to 5 years in developing accessible websites and content, a recognized accessibility certification such as the CPACC and WAS from IAAP


Specific Skills:

• Must have 5+ years’ experience in a lead or managerial role in marketing;

• 3+ years of experience with CMS platforms;

• 3+ years’ experience maintaining and creating website content and management;

• Direct experience in managing the development of websites or full website redesigns;

• Understanding of information architecture, user experience, and web design principles;

• Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, PPC, website analytics and accessibility, email marketing, graphic design, content writing, social media and video editing;

• Understanding of AODA compliance, WCAG and other accessibility standards, protocols and best practices including the use of accessibility automated testing tools and manual processes;

• Ability to validate third party vendors and products for accessibility compliance and deviation criteria;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Experience with website copy writing and design;

• Deep understanding of SEO requirements and delivery approach;

• Strong Google Analytics skills;

• Diligence in testing and QA;

• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or Creative Suite an asset;

• Experience with project management software and

• Strong PC skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
