Lead UX Designer (m/f/x)
The Role
As the Lead UX Designer, you will be responsible for setting the UX strategy, priorities, and deliverables to ensure the success of the KONUX product portfolio. You will act as a mentor to a team of UX designers and UI developers, and you will focus on solving complex design problems with a focus on our customers’ needs. You will be responsible for ensuring UX design standards across products and for maintaining a user-centric design focus in all aspects of the product life-cycle.
The ideal candidate has the ability to both broadly analyze complex problems as well as to dive into the interactions and visual details that are crucial to a successful product offering. You are comfortable sharing early and frequent feedback with your team and you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to establish a world-class user experience for our customers across our product portfolio. You have a clean design sense and are a systems-level thinker dedicated to creating intuitive, delightful user experiences.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic decisions working closely with the product and executive teams
- Influence and contribute to the definition of the product-design-engineering process
- Establish the UX design team as an integral team in delivering successful products to market
- Partner with product, engineering, and research to ensure projects are well-defined, highly impactful, and successfully executed
- Mentor less experienced UX and UI team members
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable in the form of solutions that are simple and intuitive for our users
- Define and execute approaches to understand our customers and their problems, needs, and mental models
- Translate complexity into user-friendly experiences by journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and visually refining designs
- Create a framework to ensure regular user research and testing of KONUX solutions
- Support design decisions by testing internally and leading user testing sessions with customers.
- Collaborate with engineers to refine all use cases and ship quality products
Your Profile
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience designing web-based tools or applications.
- A track record of launching and shipping successful projects, especially in agile environments
- The ability to explore and test a breadth of approaches with a pen or prototype
- A body of work that shows the process behind the result and a user-centered approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Passion for typography, information hierarchy, interaction design, data/information design and usability heuristics
- Full working proficiency in English
