Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and talented user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designer who can apply expertise in UX design, digital strategy, user behavior and industry best practices to create and execute design solutions that meet the client’s business goals. Our ideal candidate has a track record of crafting exceptional experiences that solve user needs and is comfortable collaborating with both leaders and peers. We are looking for someone who is competent in all aspects of the design process, bring Lean UX methods and strategic thinking into enterprise projects, and establish and grow relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

-       Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with design leads, product managers and engineers

-       Collaborate with design leads to translate user requirements into design solutions

-       Illustrate user experience using storyboards, information architecture, process flows, user journeys/personas and sitemaps

-       Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets, page navigation buttons, search fields, content layouts etc.

-       Develop UI mockups and UX prototypes that clearly illustrate the look and feel and functionality of a digital product

-       Create original designs (e.g. images, sketches, diagrams, wireframes etc.)

-       Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)

-       Develop, refine and adhere to design systems and style guides

-       Work independently to apply design concepts and contribute ideas to internal team

-       Begin to present design ideas to business stakeholders, solicit feedback, and iterate on design solution based on feedback

-       Collaborate with internal and client teams throughout the design process involving research, discovery, ideation, prototyping and revision

-       Engage directly with stakeholders, project teams and partners to understand business objectives, effectively communicate design recommendations, and solicit feedback

-       Understand user motivations, business objectives, market opportunities and competition

-       Assist senior designers and design leads in facilitating interactive workshops to gather collective intelligence around business requirements and design ideas

-       Work alongside business analysts to facilitate requirements gathering/solicitation

-       Collaborate with development team to validate technical feasibility of design, perform or direct QA on visual layout, browser and platform compatibility, as well as product performance

-       Understand and incorporate Design Thinking, Agile Methodologies, Lean Principles and Collective Intelligence into project strategy

-       Begin to mentor other designers and collaborate in a manner that ensures delivery exceeds expectations

-       Understand UX/UI capabilities at Optimity and recognize ways to apply and contribute to business development initiatives

Required Qualifications:

-       Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a UX/UI design related role

-       Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, UX design, or relevant degree

-       Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis

-       Display a strong portfolio which demonstrates work across a range of clients

Desired Qualifications:

-       Have a solid understanding of design principles and user experience best practices

-       Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies

-       Skilled in using wireframing tools (e.g. Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD) and comfortable producing concept sketches and users flows

-       Have a good working knowledge of HTML and CSS

-       Exhibit a passion for UX and UI

-       Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite

-       Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction

-       Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively

-       Experience with user research, usability testing, and generating test reports

-       Experience with mobile and responsive design

-       Participated in the planning and facilitation of Design Thinking workshops

-       Strong communication skills

-       Good time-management skills

-       Takes initiative to hone own skills and proactively seeks mentorship and feedback

-       Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
