Creative? Sweet! Graphic Designer Wanted

Do you have some chops with the Photoshops? Are you an Illustrator innovator? Will you highlight our product line with InDesign?

As you can see, we've already filled our "writer of bad jokes" position, but we are still searching for a talented graphic designer to revamp our branding and unify our identity across a number of different media. From brochures to trade show displays to websites and everything in between, you will spearhead the next generation of "This is ASTi".

Wait. What is ASTi?

ASTi is a small 40-50 person company in Northern Virginia, and we've been in business since 1989 without a single layoff. We make computer hardware and software systems that provide voice and radio communications, audio and special sound effects, speech recognition and artificial intelligence capabilities, and cloud-based training to help make better pilots, soldiers, and sailors.

We offer a relaxed atmosphere, excellent compensation, and generous benefits starting with four weeks' vacation, a company-paid retirement plan, and medical insurance. We were also included in Washingtonian magazine's "50 Great Places to Work" multiple times.

More About this Job

This is a full-time position in Herndon, VA for a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who demonstrates strong graphic design skills to breathe new life into all aspects of ASTi's marketing efforts. This is not a contract, and teleworking is not an option.

If hired, you will be involved in the creation, maintenance and evolution of designs for:

  • Brochures and flyers
  • Powerpoint or other presentation media
  • Websites (multiple)
  • Trade show backdrops and banner stands
  • Email newsletters
  • Business cards, letterhead, marketing folders, etc.
  • Production materials (DVD labels, customer reports, etc.)
  • Diagrams explaining proposal solutions of varied complexity
  • ... and more! So exciting.

You Should Have:

  1. Two to three years' experience in graphic design for marketing
  2. The ability to manage your own tasks and time without direct supervision while incorporating ideas/opinions of a small marketing and design team
  3. An online portfolio or website where we can see your work

Things that will set you apart from other candidates and put you closer to the top of our list:

  1. Your designs are great.
  2. You can do desktop publishing. Bonus points will be awarded if you can coordinate production with printers and vendors.
  3. You have experience implementing and maintaining websites.

Sounds Great! Now What?
