3D Modeling Artist

We have been in this business for 10 years and have clientele from across the globe in countries like the USA, Canada, Japan, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Fotografik is currently looking for a technically brilliant yet creative, empathic, and highly communicative 3D Modelling Artist with expertise in Architectural, Character, and Marvellous Modelling. The one who is to create three-dimensional models, artwork, animations, and effects to be utilized in a variety of creative projects, whether that be for film, marketing, gaming, or a brace of associated industries. The job often involves following a brief and putting together a piece of work that reflects that brief and brings a clients ideas into a tangible 3D space.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s):

Create and manage digital assets
Interpret concept art and sketches to create virtual characters, environments, and props
Follow design guidelines, asset naming conventions, and other technical constraints
Prototype and iterate on models and characters based on feedback from team members
Create textures and UV maps
Optimize, refine, and correct model geometry
Rig models and characters for animation
Work with artists, animators, and programmers to execute projects on time
Keep abreast with the latest developments in 3D design, capture, and modeling tools, and technologies

Experience & Qualification:

Expert level knowledge of 3D design and animation tools such as 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, etc.
An eye for detail and good visualization skills
Ability to take feedback and make changes as required
Extensive knowledge of character design, rigging, skinning, etc.
Some familiarity with animation techniques
Good communication skills
Minimum 4 years of experience in 3D design and modeling
Technical diploma in 3D modeling or a degree in fine arts
Some scripting experience will be an added bonus

Design 3D Models

A 3D Artist builds 3D models of products, environments, and more. They use their ability to create photo-realistic materials, lighting, and rendered images for various uses including marketing and advertisements.

Project Management

These specialists must be detail-oriented, adhere to deadlines, and manage their time across multiple projects. They may also need to have flexible hours in order to accommodate communication with other members of their team and to adhere to tight project deadlines.

Work Collaboratively

3D Artists work with many different people. So, they need to have the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. They must also be able to incorporate feedback from colleagues and superiors into their designs in order to make them stronger.

Important traits for a 3D Artist

3D Artists need to have an excellent eye for composition, photo-realism, and lighting. They should have a good understanding of model optimization for real-time performance, 3D modeling, and scene ability. Artists need to have strong time management skills and be effective communicators as they will work closely with many team members including project managers, art directors, and fellow artists.
