Product Designer

We believe that all the best puzzles have different pieces…

You love an app that makes you smile, right? Well our product is a lot of fun. And even though our origins are that of a humble scavenger hunt app, we’ve now evolved (hatched?) into a super-flexible interactive platform used by millions to create all sorts of experiences! It’s all the best parts of a scavenger hunt, with a delightful twist to keep you coming back for more.

With all that fun and flexibility, we’ve been growing like crazy.

For teachers in the classroom, we’re the new “TV cart”, aka the learning tool that students legitimately look forward to. For today’s workplaces, virtual or otherwise, we help the team connect with each other to the point where they want to come into (or logon) to work. And for local cities and towns, we bring families together in a way that truly builds a sense of community.

So what exactly is this job?

GooseChase is redefining interactive experiences to make the world more fun, playful and human. Working closely with our Head of Product Design, Hannah Catmur, our Product Designers are key to driving and fulfilling that purpose.

Playing a senior role within our Product Development team, you will be responsible for making a contribution to our product design operations by enhancing how we work; leading our design maturity and evolving our design systems, a critical piece of our long-term vision.

We’re fortunate to have some of the most passionate people on the planet as our customers. Your role will be to harness that enthusiasm by creating experiences which delight and excite making GooseChase more than just an (amazing) product, but a home for all things ‘interactive experiences’.

Ideally you will have experience within a start-up environment and can demonstrate your experience of user testing, shipping products and working with agile delivery teams.

Enough about us, over to you

We understand that relevant experience comes in all shapes and sizes and the ability to do the job is really what matters. With that in mind, we aren’t going to put together a generic list of all the requirements that we’re looking for with this job, but here are a few things that you might want to think about or ask yourself before deciding if we are right for you:

  • You understand how to bring others onto your design journey and challenge assumptions to help get the best possible solutions for users.
  • You have a passion for continuous learning and want to continue pushing creative boundaries.
  • You enjoy leveraging user testing as a way of identifying and recognizing opportunities to enhance the customer journey.
  • Are you happy to work as part of a distributed team and know what great communication and collaboration look like?
  • Can you get down with an uncomfortable amount of goose puns?

Ok, the last one isn’t super work related, but we honestly do have a lot of goose puns. It’s one of our favourite parts of our culture.

Why we think we’re great

We care deeply about working with amazing people, and have set up our company culture specifically for that.

  • We work remotely and flexibly because we wanted our people to have the flexibility to live wherever and however they wanted!
  • The health & wellbeing of our flock is important to us: in 2021 we introduced Flock Friday’s, our 4 day work week, and we love them. No goosing around here - four standard days, not four- stretched-so-that-you’re-basically-still-working-five-full-days.
  • We are bootstrapped and proud - our growth has been sustainable and focused on what is best for our flock, which is why everyone is eligible for our profit sharing scheme from day 1.
  • You get to work in the way that is best for you and our customers, and we will help you with that by providing you with a fund to buy the equipment you need and giving you a monthly co-working office budget.
  • Want to aim higher? Great, we’ll give you a personal and a professional development budget to keep you at the top of your game.
  • We're suggesting a salary range of $95,000-$105,000CAD but we're happy to chat more about that.

So, this is us, standing in front of you, asking you to join us…and if this means that you require us to make reasonable adjustments to our application process for greater accessibility, just let us know by contacting our Head of People, Natasha.
