This could be a contract or full-time position, depending on your availability and how things go
We are Appraisd, and we’ve built a fantastic tool used by 100’s of organisations to improve the way employees are managed, developed and engaged.
Appraisd is probably unlike any other app you’ve ever designed before. It presents many new challenges and patterns you may not have come across, so you’ll be stretching your brain from day one. So… for someone interested in human interaction and data as well as the sheer beauty of design, this is a fantastic opportunity.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a mid-level UX and UI designer (HTML/CSS skills would also be appreciated), to work on the latest iterations of the Appraisd web app. You’ll become a crucial part of the team. There will be plenty of discussion and debate, so if you’re looking to grow and learn, this is the place to be. I personally see this as a vital role and am excited about the prospect of someone filling the seat.
As well as obsessing about border-radisu, shadows and RGBA values, you need to understand interaction, visualisation and how a design can change a user’s behaviour and frame of mind. We’ll need you to put together interactive mockups that show how you understand the core of what we’re trying to provide to users. Ideally you'd be able to provide mockups in HTML and CSS.
Parts of the interface have been nailed down through vigorous testing and iteration already and we just need a fresh look and feel. Other parts need you to take a step back and re-think the way it works. There will be some quick wins and some longer-term projects. We have access to a whole load of existing users who can provide useful feedback and testing opportunities.
Appraisd is responsive so you’ll need to design both for desktop and mobile – although most of our users view Appraisd on their desktops.
Take a look at www.appraisd.com and see what you think – feel free to log in for trial.
- Ability to sketch out ideas on paper quickly and efficiently
- Mastery of Sketch or Adobe XD or equivalent
- Experience with online tools such as Invision or Marvel
- CSS and HTML skills would be a big bonus
- We anticipate this being a full time role but we are open to other offers.
We can we offer you?
Needless to say we’ll pay you a great wage and you’ll work in our very friendly and attractive Kentish Town office with our small but happy and enthusiastic team.
We have all kinds of perks here and there but to be honest I think what’s most important is that you can see the impact of your work, develop your skills and be inspired by others around you – and all this I can guarantee.
To get the ball rolling, all we need to see is a portfolio of interesting work (even if it’s just your own doodles rather than commissioned stuff) as well as some kind of statement from on why you’d be interested in the role – so please get in touch with your Behance or Dribble profiles, plus your expected pay/what you’ve been paid previously.
To start as soon as possible.
Absolutely no agencies please, we’ve had a lot of success posting jobs like this one and don’t need any help.
