Nexient is looking for an UX Director to join our team at our Ann Arbor, MI office.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a Creative Director role for someone who also have a strong UX background.
  • As a Creative Director, you will be the voice of the consumer across all aspects of the business and touch points.
  • Assist in the creation of industry-relevant points-of-view and staying current with the latest trends.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to plan, concept, and execute on creative deliverables.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and external partners.
  • Ensure all touchpoints are on brand, coherent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice across all channels
  • Influence and mentor across the organization, focusing on coaching and developing product managers, engineers and creative team on UX best practices.
  • Reliably support multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously
  • Responsible for growing inhouse UX/UI teams through mentoring and oversight.
  • Help establish and standardize process and deliverables.
  • Participate in new business development.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 10 years UX/UI design experience across consumer mobile applications, websites.
  • 7+ years professional experience, ideally with an experiential design firm or advertising agency with an accompanying portfolio is required for consideration.
  • At least 5 years managing design teams.
  • Understanding of how content, design, user interface and technology work together to create an optimal user experience
  • Strong thought leadership and UX design vision skills, including strong analytical, strategic, and conceptual design skills.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles
  • Strong understanding of information architecture, user experience, and content strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to do UX/UI work and create solutions based on business strategy and needs
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and external partners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Must be strategic, tactical, and creative while remaining detail-oriented and process-focused
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to achieve results through influence and persuasion
  • Fluent use with tools like Sketch, Axure RP, Visio, and Omnigraffle
  • Business travel required
