Design Studio Seeking Design Director
Il Mulino New York, a highly lauded restaurant group and leading force in the hospitality industry, has an immediate opening for a Design Director in its Midtown Manhattan corporate headquarters.
This Director will serve as a creative visionary behind all projects and initiatives, and will develop multiple creative projects, concentrating on keeping our brand at the forefront of the industry. Expect to juggle many projects at one time, have familiarity with project management and knowing how to work well in a design team environment. This is a full-time opportunity with the potential option of freelance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the creative process from beginning to end
- Oversee deliverables, timelines and budgets
- Work in tandem with marketing team to implement creative strategies
- Lead and direct the creative team (freelance or full-time) in the production of all marketing collateral
- Ensure visual communication and brand standards exceed expectation
- from the company’s Owner
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to team members
- Uses his/her refined and sophisticated taste in printing menus, reimagining pre-existing food packaging styles, interior design of restaurants and mastering other items within the design team
Experience/Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience as a creative with experience in a managerial role
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in industrial design, design strategy, design management or the equivalent
- Strong understanding of industry tools: Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign
- and Photoshop
- Proven track record of performing creative positions, such as a graphic designer, art director and copywriter
- Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills a must
- Must have an extensive knowledge of Squarespace/WordPress
- Have a keen sense of interior design and style
- Marketing background preferred
