Design Researcher

Design Researcher

Who We Are

Maark is a strategic marketing and innovation agency for global companies. We help our clients define and articulate their vision, design new connected customer experiences, and develop applications at the intersection of where what's possible meets what's relevant.

Our team of designers work with relative autonomy on our respective accounts but support each other through collaborative feedback and guidance. We don't believe in egos and instead look for designers who want to learn from their colleagues and share their skills so we all can make the best work of our careers. Learn more about our product design practice.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced design researcher to help us evaluate an existing, e-commerce flow for digital goods, and validate the usability of the updated experience through an iterative design/testing process. You’ll work closely with a senior product designer and a design director to create an improved and streamlined checkout experience.

This position is a two-month contract.

Responsibilities

·       Design research studies using both qualitative and quantitative methods to help shape digital products.

·       Test the usability of design concepts at various stages of development.

·       Organize, publish, and share your findings with other team members and our client stakeholders.

·       Provide actionable findings and insights to designers, managers, and engineers based on your research.

·       Benchmark the quality of our products to track the improvement and their impact over time.

Qualifications

·       You have 1+ years of UX/design research experience.

·       You have a BFA/BS degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent (nice to have).

·       You have experience planning and running user interviews and usability tests.

·       You’re comfortable interviewing and presenting to executive level stakeholders.

·       You have great communication and storytelling skills and are confident discussing your research, findings, and process.

·       You’re able to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

·       You have experience collaborating with designers and helping others understand your research.

·       You have an understanding of common design patterns and can make recommendations on how experiences can be improved.

·       You care about, and will help advocate for, making experiences accessible for all users.
