Job Summary

At Rosie, we like to keep things simple. We're looking for a driven designer to refine Rosie's aesthetic into an outstanding user experience. You will be at the forefront of our efforts and be directly responsible for decisions that shape the product. You will use a full range of skills from product design, interaction design, and visual design to build great experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Product Management and Development staff to gather and evaluate user requirements;
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps;
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, click-throughs, and prototypes.
  • Designing and maintaining the responsive behavior of the site.

Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in user interface design, human factors, web design, HCI, computer science, or related field
  • 2+ years experience designing complex web and/or mobile applications. Experience with design software and wireframe tools.

  • Proficiency in a UI Prototyping software of your choice
  • Portfolio reflecting diverse experience in user-centered design.
  • Thinking in terms of design systems and making rational design decisions.
  • Attention to fine details and polishing until your work is pixel-perfect.
  • Ability to thrive in a variable and demanding startup environment

Extra Awesome

  • Experience working with e-commerce.
  • Can distill complicated problems into simple and elegant solutions.
  • Have unparalleled team collaboration skills.
  • Previous experience with JIRA and Confluence a plus (not required)
  • Understand what makes an experience good or bad—you can think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, mock them up in detail, and work with engineers to build them.
  • Have a highly refined aesthetic sense; you have a strong understanding of composition, balance, symmetry, and white space.
  • Look for opportunities to solve problems in unique and innovative ways.
  • Understand the technical limitations and liberties behind your decisions and you are able to communicate your ideas effectively.
  • Experience designing for the web and mobile devices and understand how to apply both form and function while maintaining simplicity.
  • Set your own guidelines, and build easy-to-navigate documents.
  • Constantly pushing your limits and searching for opportunities to become better.
  • Thriving in an environment with short feedback loops.
