Junior Graphic Designer - London based
HeyBigMan! are looking for a relentlessly creative and design obsessed junior designer to join our team and have the confidence to exert their influence on our studio and creative output from the get go.
About you
Ideally, you’ll have at least one years’ agency experience, but failing that, we’d like to see exceptional university or self generated creative projects in your portfolio.
We need candidates to have ambition, be as passionate about our company as we are and to grow as we grow, both professionally and personally.
Conceptually literate as well as design focussed, you’ll possess great attention to detail, be a good communicator and able to work quickly and to a high standard within a fast paced creative environment. You’ll also have strong layouts and typesetting ability. We want people who are inquisitive, informed, compassionate and really interested in life; in culture, in music and ideally (although not a prerequisite) know a thing or two about sports and the culture that surrounds it.
You must be a confident presenter, able to talk through your work clearly and engagingly to both internal teams and to clients and collaborators. Successful candidates will be naturally collaborative and thrive on working in a team, often consisting of fellow designers, strategists, writers and account managers.
The ability to spot growth opportunities with existing clients, as well as new business opportunities from outside the business, would be a big bonus.
Competence across Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Google Slides is essential, and any knowledge and skills in the following are desirable although not essential: Glyphs, AfterEffects, Cinema 4D, HTML, CSS and JS. We also welcome any keen videographers, photographers or wordsmiths! We need someone who is primarily a great designer, but any other skills and passions you can bring to the party will be warmly welcomed.

HeyBigMan! is a boutique, multidisciplinary creative agency with a plethora of creative outputs but a weighting towards strategy-based brand design. So experience in visual identity creation, coupled with a love of branding is a must. We have a varied, cross-category mix of clients, and you’ll also be contributing creatively to our own self generated initiatives within the HBM! ecosystem. No two days are ever the same here, and designers love working with us because the work that goes through our studio is so varied, eclectic and interesting. You’ll almost certainly be doing things you’ve never done before and so you’ll be constantly challenged and your learning curve will be steep.
Our studio is in vibrant Hackney Wick, London. A lovely place to work and a neighbourhood that’s alive with creative energy. But in our post pandemic world of work, you won’t be expected to be studio based every day.
