Design Associate

We're looking for a Design Associate who's a passionate designer. You know the difference between your baselines and x-heights, descenders and ascenders. You take pride in your work, and never feel it’s finished. You thrive working with others. You are hungry to learn and listen but not afraid to share your opinion. You’re excited to work on the small workflows and the big executions. You know the value of research and it’s reflected in your output. You’ve got some experience, but are ready to take your skills to the next level.

What we’d like to see from you

• A detail oriented approach to design and pride in high quality work
• Proficient in Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite and comfortable with prototyping software
• Have experience working in a design team
• A basic understanding of project management techniques
• Follow through ability: interested in “finishing” a project, not just initial discovery hacking
• Have good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to articulate and explain design problems
• Have an appreciation of product design and ideally basic understanding of development principles and workflows

Requirements

• Work closely with Leads and Directors in the context of design production teams
• Work with the Design Lead to create high level and detailed design systems and document them accordingly
• Work with the Design Lead to break down user problems into individual design tasks
• Assist in creating design guidelines and requirements documents
• Make design recommendations and defend those decisions
• Work closely with the product team and assist in basic product management tasks
• Take part in design reviews
