Sr. Product Designer
OWN THE DESIGN DIRECTION OF OUR PLATFORM
Product Designers at Vise are obsessed with building a world class user experience to help financial advisors save time, grow their business, and help their clients understand their portfolio. They identify and advocate for solving critical customer problems, discover strategy-driving insights, and build advisor empathy across the company. We just launched the second iteration of our platform, and we’re anxious to begin work on the next generation design of our offering.
Autonomy is very important to us. You’ll have the freedom to explore your design instincts and express your ideas without a ton of bureaucracy to comb through. Our product designers take a product from ideation to production. You will partner closely with product managers, engineering, and sales to drive the continued evolution of our design culture.
Our office is located in One World Trade in NYC. We support flexible remote and hybrid work arrangements. Our office is open with strict contact tracing and protocols for anyone who chooses to go in. In line with forthcoming local and federal mandates, we require all employees be fully vaccinated, per CDC guidelines, before engaging in in-person work or business related activities. We continue to monitor and follow state and federal Covid-19 guidelines to ensure the safety of our employees and communities.
What You Will Own
· Your design process; end to end.
· Cross functional outcomes with engineering, product, and business teams to define
problems & goals, research requirements, map user flows, prototype, and launch new products
·. Design strategy, advocate for user needs, and contribute to the evolution of our design system
· User research and testing from concepts to usability
· Maintaining the standard for Design @ Vise, from culture, to process, to quality
Design Deliverables On The Horizon
· Design the foundation for our in-app communication and notifications that help advisors stay one step ahead of their client
· Help refine a process for sourcing and collecting feedback and ideas from our users
· Explore new ways to educate our users on Vise’s investment philosophy and decisions our investment engine makes on behalf of the client
· Iterate on Vise’s visual style and contribute new patterns and components to the ever-evolving design system
· Work with the rest of the team to set overall company direction, sales goals, and hiring goals

· You have countless examples of how you’ve partnered in an iterative design process. You are comfortable accepting and implementing feedback and you’re always advocating for the best UX for our customers
· You have a clear vision and track record successfully implementing your design decisions. You’ve also successfully gained cross-functional buy-in from stakeholders in product, engineering & sales by clearly explaining your design decisions
· You’ve taken abstract ideas and hypotheses and turned them into exceptional products for users and the business
· You’ve applied research, usability tests, and metrics to inform design decisions
· You can tell stories about how you’ve navigated to outcomes in ambiguous environments
· You have well-formed opinions about design patterns and best practices, UX and UI design
· You’re a self-starter. You’ve identified UX issues and took the initiative to solve them
· You’ve developed a strong methodology to develop empathy for users
· You can easily transition across various design programs (We use Figma)
How To Stand Out Amongst Others In Our Candidate Pool:
· Experience as a researcher supporting early stage, zero to one products
· Experience with the financial services industry
· Experience mentoring or training others on user research and product design
· A hunger to change investment management for the better
