Freelance Visual Interaction Designer

Interaction Designers make the biggest impact by thinking creatively, having a passion for pixels and prototyping. They love to make graphics move and have a knack for crafting compelling stories.

Job Description:

  • Work on projects that solve problems across a variety of industries
  • Collaborate with designers of different backgrounds such as industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and interaction designers to develop a holistic design for our clients
  • Create looks like/works like prototypes that help tell a project’s story
  • Be an advocate of exceptional design
  • Design websites, apps, and combined digital and physical experiences with the end user in mind

Relevant Experience:

  • Strong portfolio and elevated sense of design, color and typography. You know the difference between “good” and “great” and are able to navigate team dynamics, clients and timelines to deliver excellent design
  • 3-5 years interaction/graphic design experience across a variety of digital media
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, New Media, HCI, Interaction Design, or an equivalent degree
  • Extensive experience with a variety of graphic design and interactive tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Principle, Framer, etc.
  • Team skills: You work best in a participatory, team-based environment. You support and inspire teams through collaboration as well as direction, vision, and planning of all aspects of visual deliverables
  • Communication skills: You have strong verbal and visual presentation skills, as well as an articulate point of view about design. You understand the value of design and brand within a business context
  • Prototyping skills: You are ready to learn from failure, embrace an iterative process and you understand that success comes sooner with trial and error. You have experience in creating both low and high fidelity design deliverables for print and screen
  • Consulting chops: Experience in concept ideation, design strategy, digital prototyping, and combining graphic design and animation. You should feel comfortable throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into visual concepts, through design development and refinement, to creating production-ready artwork
  • Openness: Designers need to be flexible and open-minded. You are optimistic, generative, and open to new ideas and ways of working
  • You can articulate a human-centered approach to design and be comfortable going out into the world for inspiration. You understand basic human-centered design philosophy, are comfortable with ambiguity and want to push design methodologies
  • Experience working with medical interfaces
