Design Director
As Design Director at Instrument, you build best-in-class digital platforms and experiences while mentoring and inspiring your team to be curious about solving complex problems on a daily basis. You think high-level about the user experience and the strategy required to deliver an elegant solution, and you have an ability to create premium digital experiences through interactive design, visual design, art direction, and prototyping.
What you’ll do
- Inspire your team through design and establish the bar for design thinking and execution
- Cultivate, guide, and lead your team with a strong point of view and creative vision
- Concept, iterate, prototype and test in an effort to deliver strategic, elegant and simple design solutions
- Build and manage client partnerships from project kickoff to timely delivery
- Visually and verbally communicate concepts and strategy behind your work
- Lead a project and team autonomously with limited process and hierarchy in place
- Balance multiple project assignments or business challenges with a steady disposition
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years relevant experience in visual design of digital products that have been released to the market
- A portfolio demonstrating high proficiency in delivering strategically grounded design thinking across various digital platforms with details on your specific role and contribution
- Deep knowledge and skills in visual design, UI and UX design, and typography
- Fluency in current industry design and prototyping tools
- A curious student of emerging technologies that in turn applies and drives innovation in the work you lead and create
- Strong strategic thinking with awareness of the project lifecycle, necessary timelines, business challenges and team communication
- Proven experience collaborating with internal teams and partnering with clients
- Strong presentation skills
- Brand design and AR/VR experience a plus
