Graphic Designer (Brand - Mid Level)

Base is hiring a full-time, in-person, Graphic Designer to join its health mission. We're seeking someone who will work alongside our brand and creative team to help evolve our brand, communicate product, build marketing campaigns, and create interactive experiences across social platforms.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative and detail-oriented individual who is able to take complex concepts/requirements and simplify them using compelling, fun, narrative-based concepts for social platforms. This person is brand-focused with a true passion for design and a drive to continuously improve the quality of work. They are obsessed with the newest design trends and software to differentiate their work from competitors. The successful candidate is able to take feedback and quickly adjust for tight deliverable deadlines.

We are an 🗽NYC-based startup that is disrupting the wellness and healthcare space. We’re pairing at-home lab testing & AI health app to give people personalized recommendations on how to eat and live a healthy life based on their body’s data (blood and saliva). We tell them what to test, which of their hormone and vitamin levels are off and how to fix it, all managed conveniently through the Base app.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with marketing, product design, and growth teams to concept campaigns, evergreen communications, and launch announcements that support new products and features
  • Assist our brand and marketing team in creating conceptual & branded graphics and animated gifs to use across core marketing channels from email to social media (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, etc)
  • Design and build digital advertising materials on a day-to-day basis. Leverage data-driven insights from ad performance and industry best practices to inform the creative approach.
  • Convert static key art into engaging motion assets
  • Utility video editing (tagging, captioning, versioning, resizing for social media, delivery)
  • Create data visualizations to communicate complex science-based concepts for core marketing channels

About You

  • Excellent typography, sense of space, grids and color.
  • Understand best practices for ads and short-form content on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Twitter and Youtube
  • Eager to learn and provide design solutions based on feedback

  • Highly creative, collaborative and detail-oriented
  • Organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapts easily to change and demonstrates flexibility in shifting goals and priorities.
  • Enjoys taking complex concepts and translating them into simple, comprehensive and engaging visuals
  • Make smart tradeoffs between rapid execution vs longer-term design systems
  • Curious and open to trying new things to validate hypotheses and can easily move away from directions that no longer serve a function
  • Previous startup experience preferred - i.e. read scrappy

Must-Haves

  • 2-5 years of experience in Digital Design; experience in Digital Advertisement is a must.
  • An up-to-date portfolio that demonstrates a strong sense of typography, logos and text animation, motion graphics, GIFs, and interactive illustrations
  • Deep knowledge of and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Products and Figma
  • Strong understanding of creative needs for marketing channels and optimizing for a consumer-centric feedback loop
  • Familiarity with email platforms and optimization tools

Good to-Haves

  • 3D animation skills
  • Illustration skills
  • Demonstrate well-executed designs in motion for ads and social platforms
