Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

We are looking to grow our design team to include a mid-level graphic designer. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, organized, and has the willingness to learn the ropes and the ability to take criticism. This position requires a meticulous eye and attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines, while maintaining quality control. The Graphic Designer is responsible, under supervision and guidance from the Senior Brand Creative, for designing and producing print and digital media assets that are aligned with the QDOBA brand to support in-store, digital, and regional marketing efforts.

 

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Create print and digital layouts to support corporate-wide and localized marketing initiatives.

·        Follow art direction, process, technical feedback in a professional manner to accomplish these projects.

·        Create / review mechanicals and prepare projects for final delivery for press and online usage – duties include pre-flighting, typesetting and layout adjustment. Work with merchandising specialist to deliver press-ready files in accordance with vendor specifications while maintaining high quality assurance.

·        Re-format and re-size multiple projects, using existing art files to create new print-ready or web-ready. Following art direction, process, aesthetics, and technical feedback in a professional manner.

·        Effectively organize, manage and maintain design file libraries on digital asset management systems to ensure ease of retrieval for future use. Initiates service requests and technical support as needed.

·        Assist and mentor Junior Designer(s) and creative team members with other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Art, Graphic Design, or related field.

 

Experience:  5+ years of graphic design experience preferred; at least 2 years corporate experience; Macintosh design experience is a must. Design portfolio required for consideration.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and Microsoft Office. Ability to take design instruction as well as criticism. Excellent oral and written English communication skills; strong interpersonal skills. An appreciation for Mexican culture and food a plus.

 

Physical Requirements Ability to operate a computer, i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet, etc. Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to work efficiently in open environment. Ability to travel within the facility.
