Our software is used to make the checkout process frictionless - implementing for the first time truly one-click purchasing for businesses selling to other businesses. Tillit's software helps to increase sales conversion, gets Merchants paid quickly, reliably, and with no credit risk, and frees up cash so they can concentrate on what they do best-providing their customers with world-class goods and services. 

We are an early-stage fintech startup aspiring to revolutionize the B2B Payments space, and are already operational in Norway and UK. We’ve been backed by some of the biggest names in VC including Sequoia and Local Globe.

Location

We are building our main talent hubs in Oslo and London. If you aren't based in either London or Oslo but are keen to explore the role further, we'd love to hear from you — Tillit is a remote-friendly company, with a flexible working policy accommodating onsite and remote teams, with the expectation that travel to our hubs will be required when needed.

The Role

As Tillit's Design Lead, we’ll be looking for you to drive our efforts to make beautiful, intuitive, and useful products for our users.

You’ll manage, mentor, and grow a team of designers as the business scales (currently we have one full-time and one part-time designer in the team, the total headcount is around 30). We’re passionate about Tillit being a place where people come to grow their skills fast and to do the best work of their careers.

You will collaborate with essentially every team and stakeholder within and outside of Tillit, in particular product, engineering, marketing, and sales. As a part of this, you will be a central node in the company and play a key role in setting our long-term design direction.

As we’re an early-stage startup, you’ll have the opportunity to set the trajectory of our products and help us build world-class user experiences across all of Tillit's customer and merchant-facing products from our Dashboards, Checkout, Documentation, and Website.

Requirements

• You have 2+ years of people management experience and at least 4 years of experience working as a UI and UX designer in a tech company.
• You are great at motivating and inspiring those you manage and collaborate with to produce great work.
• You have previously recruited and built product design teams.
• You have prior experience managing a team of product designers.
• You have previously developed designers’ skills and careers in a structured manner.
• You can demonstrate clear past evidence of being truly customer focused in how you researched, and solved design problems.
• You have strong spoken and written communication skills and can comfortably interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
• You can explain in clear terms how you balance speed, quality, and risk taking to produce great work.

Tools, Processes, and Technologies We Use 

• Figma, Miro, Linear, and Notion for design and engineering workflow and wiki.
• We work in agile scrum, however, as a small company we try to keep the process light!
• Svelte JS for the frontend.
