Senior Visual Designer - Squla

Job description

As a Senior Visual Designer your goal is to bring the visual style of our educational platform to the next level. As we are growing our platform, our goal is to give children of different age groups and with different preferences different experiences through visual style and features. Your challenge is to further develop these visual styles in order to provide a personalized experience for all kids, while at the same time ensuring alignment between kids, parent, teacher and marketing products.

Your key responsibilities will be focussed on creating illustrations and UI design, as well as coordinating the process of image creation for the Content & Kids Activation team:

  • Create and deliver production ready assets to further develop the visual styles for different age groups; character design, illustrations, UI, animations, etc.
  • Work closely together with our Visual Designer/Animator and Brand Designer to deliver the best user experience
  • Coordinate the visual design process for Content & Kids Activation; create style guides, manage project outsourcing and planning and do art direction on the deliverables
  • Further develop a strong network of external designers
  • Ensure consistency across all our products (kids, parents, teacher and marketing)

Job requirements

We are on the lookout for a Senior Visual Designer who has a hands-on mentality. You are capable of creating and building multiple fun and illustrative styles to get our platform to the next level, but at the same time you know how to manage projects. You know your strengths and those of others and are capable of getting the right mix of people together to get the best results in terms of quality, time and costs.

In addition to this, you meet the following requirements:

  • HBO or Master Degree in Art/Design/Games/Creative Media;
  • 5+ years of Design experience with a strong visual art background; for example through visual art for games, or you created multiple different styles for apps and sites.
  • An intimate understanding of vector graphics with industry standard software like Illustrator and Figma;
  • A hands-on mentality, combined with the ability to manage and push creative projects from concept to final execution;
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and written;
  • Experience with educational technology and designing for kids is a plus;
  • Experience with games and game design is a plus;
  • A good network of freelance designers is a plus
