In order to make informed design decisions, this position will dive deep to understand the clients business, customer profiles, competitive landscape, company objectives and overall brand positioning.  Collaboration is key, and as the lead designer on a project, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our clients to facilitate conversations, conduct working sessions and go through various exercises to create alignment and generate ideas that will set them apart from their competition. 

When conceptualizing your designs, you will be responsible for communicating your ideas through flowcharts, storyboards, sitemaps, wireframes, mood boards, graphics, style guides, or design mockups. These visuals will then be leveraged to tell a story. We are looking for someone who believes design is essential to an organization, and is able to showcase their passion and expertise through storytelling and presentations. 

Location

This will be a remote position, we do have office locations in Chicago and Portland but due to COVID and not utilizing our offices in the last 18 months we are looking nationally for the best candidates. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead the design process from conception to delivery
• Strategize and define design direction
• Be a good role model for junior designers  
• Review designs and conduct internal critiques 
• Organize, conduct and analyze design research
• Work alongside creative & engineers to conceptualize user journey/flows
• Create sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios and storyboards (as needed per project)
• Assign & delegate tasks to design specialists 
• Work with the marketing team to develop SEO driven content strategy 
• Present findings and pitch concepts to both internal & external stakeholders 
• Lead design focused workshops with customers
• Establish and nurture client working relationships

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years working at a digital agency
• Experience leading (5+) website design projects
• A portfolio that demonstrates branding & marketing designs
• Experience leading design presentation and collecting feedback
• Demonstrated knowledge using Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, or Illustrator to create organized design systems. 
• Understanding of HTML & CSS
• Experience working with and designing for for B2B companies
• Experience working with Wordpress CMS
• Experience designing & building pages within a WordPress page builder (Elementor, Divi, Oxygen, WP Bakery)
