Plus: Creative Collaboration with DKNG

Special Workshop • Dec 4th from 8–10am • Segovia Hall, Ace Hotel

Rise and grind! We have a special opportunity to host a workshop before Hang Time LA begins. This workshop by creative studio DKNG will cover the essential steps founders Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman take with every new project—from concept development, team brainstorming, providing constructive criticism and feedback, art direction, composition, adding layers of meaning, to final execution.

Workshop participants will team up in pairs to follow a design brief using the concept of play and construction using arts & crafts materials as a gateway to explore DKNG’s collaborative creative process. Taking each other’s strengths and weaknesses into consideration, each pair will learn to work as a team, leaning on each other’s unique skill sets to build a collaborative project.

Please note: This workshop is limited to 50 people. This ticket is for the 2-hour workshop only, separate from the Hang Time LA conference.

Need something a little more formal? We’ve included this handy letter for you to use to help convince your boss why you should attend:

Hi [Manager Name],

It’s a one-day design conference featuring inspiring and educational presentations by some of the most respected industry leaders in the design community. Speakers at Hang Time LA include Paula Scher, Susan Kare, Pablo Stanley, Amy and Jennifer Hood, Meg Lewis, Peter Deltondo, Dave Hough, and more. I’ll be learning from the best and brightest!

The theme for the event is try new things, so I’ll be learning practical skills that will help inspire and re-energize my passion for design. I’ll be able to bring back new ideas, best practices, and other valuable takeaways to share with our team.

[Your Name]

What Designers Had To Say

about past Hang Times
“#Hangtime with @dribbble yesterday was the inspiration I needed. Totally nerded out getting to meet @debbiemillman — ‘Do not be afraid to want a lot.’”

Alice Donovan Rouse

“Hang Time packed more content, learning opportunities, and straight-up fun into one day than should be humanly possible. The group of folks I attended with all left energized—with heads full of new ideas, ready to take on the world.”
