    @Michael Mazur It's the serif Freight font! Quite beautiful.

    @Eric BARBEAU Thanks dude. I really liked the idea of focusing on it blurring the image, removing all the remaining content and it heading up to the top with typeahead and results showing up in real time below the bar.

    @Magnetic Kitchen Cheers!

    @Steve White Yeah, definitely. It would be generated by what's called the "reading list" on Medium. It's 100% algorithmic based on what's popular, collections you follow and other pieces you've read and recommended.

    @Christophe Tauziet Ack. Normally there's the "M" Medium logo in the top left and it reveals a navigation for a number of things...of all the layers to miss :)

    @David Ingledow Agreed. I struggle with posting totally incomplete stuff since Dribbble is so heavily treated as a portfolio sometimes, but I think completed designs that failed have tons of value to add!

    @Jeremy Sallée ✦✦✦ The main picture/story was an effort to bring emphasis to potentially really popular stories in your network or maybe an editorial selection, but I agree it might feel a bit overwhelming in size. Whitespace is one of the most important design elements on Medium and we wouldn't want to forget it.

    @Joel Reid @Corey Haggard @Matt Magi @Levani ambokadze Cheers fellas!

    @Andres Jasso @anil @Joshua Söhn @Jana de Klerk @Álvaro Bernal @Steve Fraschini @Zeeshan Zulfiqar @Nuruzzaman Sheikh Thanks everyone! Flattered <3

    @Stedesign Definitely. Probably my largest gripe was that it would be easy to miss a fantastic piece since each story isn't given a huge amount of focus. Ideally, the grid would actually be formatted so that more popular/trending stories were given prominence not just the order, but also the magnitude of the element (bigger and has background image for example).

    @Charles Patterson Yeah, this composition was massive. I was designing a 17" retina, but the design would be responsive. That's actually one of the cool parts about the grid is that bringing it down to a mobile size would be quite easy :)

    @James Young Absolutely. That's something we deal with on the actual story page as well. Often times users author incredible pieces, but choose a cover that doesn't do the piece justice. Something to be figured out.

    A design experiment with the Medium homepage aiming to make it visually richer and include types of content and social context. We decided against the direction for a number of reasons, but figured I'd share it here instead of letting it rot away in Dropbox archive :)

    Note: Gray circles would be avatars of people you "know" that recommended a story :)

    My iPhone photo roll is my private journal. I take quick snaps of everything to capture memories. They're not moments I necessarily want to share, but I want them for myself.

    I'm continuing to work on Wander* in the margins of my time while traveling, and it's starting to take shape. I'll post more in the coming weeks.

    Next up, start building!

    * Name still in progress :)
