Daily UI Challenge - (10) Music app (Android wear)

Hey everyone !

I have created this ‘Music app (Android wear)’ concept using Adobe Xd. This design was a part of the 10 day UI challenge taken up by me. I took up this challenge to enhance my UI skills and challenge myself daily by creating engaging, aesthetic and usable interfaces. Mentioned below is the thought process behind creating the concept designs.

▪️ While designing this music app for iOS Watch, several key considerations came into play. The first step was to understand the primary objectives of the concept design and the user's needs in their specific context. The limited screen size of the Apple Watch required a simplified and focused interface. I prioritised essential features like playback controls, searching music tracks, an indicator for showcasing the music track progress, and an easy navigation. The aim was to allow the user to be able to control their music with minimal effort and quickly access their favourite playlists or albums.

▪️ A clear hierarchy of information and intuitive gestures were crucial in maximising the small screen space. I focussed on creating a visually appealing design using a consistent design language that aligned with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. Utilising a clean and minimalistic aesthetic, I emphasised legible typography and easily distinguishable icons for quick recognition. Considering the limitations of the Watch's input methods, I explored an innovative way to interact with the app by utilising the digital crown for volume control or providing haptic feedback for button presses.

▪️ I believe that these subtle enhancements would enhance the user experience and make the app feel responsive and engaging. In the future, to ensure a seamless experience, I would conduct usability testing and gather user feedback at various stages of the design process and make iterative improvements based on real-world usage and refine the app's usability by addressing any pain points or friction points that arise.
