Looking at colour options to present to client. Traditional English 'racing green' with a 'dull cream', possibly too obvious but it does suit. Some associations you just can't escape. So unsure right now if I need to play safe or push for something more adventurous.

Have to consider that this will be on road signs etc.

I love the balance of the logo. Black outline seems a bit unnecessary. Removing it may add some level of sophistication (not that there isn't that already). I like the color scheme.. it definitely works. The simplicity will reproduce well on road signs.. and you can't go wrong with Mrs. Eaves. Great job!

    Looks good "G".

I wouldn't change the colour on this even though if it a "obvious" choice.

Nice work graham - if its going on road signs (just thinking out loud) would brown not be a more obvious choice as it relates to heritage sites anyway? That way there's a bit of viewer trend association.

Wez. Yeah, the main goal is a logo that works solid black on white and white on black, as per my original. As it will mostly be appearing on those brown signs, so solid white in this case. This version is trying to find a nice middle ground for possible stationery and collateral etc, where solid black 'may' be a little lifeless.

I really love this logo Graham, it would be cool to see it without the border. I agree with Jake that it may look 'classier' without it.

Ah gotcha - so actually going on the heritage signs. What a cool thing to have in your portfolio. Nice one.

I think it's a fantastic logo. Clear, simple and iconic.

Not a fan of the black outline, though.

Previous comments on the progress of the logo really useful. My attempts to create a more 'colourful' version have been halted, including the previous 'british racing green' version. The logo will be used mostly on signage, specifically brown road signs, where the logo will be white out.

This is where I feel it really works best, simple and clean, but quite bold and memorable. Easy to read from a distance.

So thank you for those who commented, it helped me steer this away from a more 'detailed' approach. Still conceptual right now, at the presenting ideas stage.

So black keyline removed and now focused on a white on brown direction. Cheers for the comments.
