Im liking the "XX" ones the bst, as the other ones dont look very argyle-ish. Im also kind of digging how the "^" one is the most simple, but the argyle still comes through as well as an A. That said, I think the type is working the best in the bottom right version. Nice!
@Rob Thanks for the words and suggestions... A little back-story: honestly, I did these on a whim (and over a lunch break) when I saw them pop up in my Dribbble activity stream. My buddy Anthony and I spoke about the name of his new company "39 Argyle" recently and how he was going to begin the process of branding his new company. We shared some ideas, and after I saw that initial stab at a brand identity for my pal's company, I thought I'd have my own casual stab at some riffing off of their shot. Admittedly, there isn't much conceptual thought into the shapes, what you see is just the result of "vector sketching" shape derivatives and pattern making, with no distinct implications. I think Anthony wants me to put some real thought into it now, lol :)

It might be pretty cool if 39 was written out XXXIX in argyle roman numerals...
The shape second from the bottom on the right is also an interesting shape.
