Tattoo Logos | Got a favorite?

Wanted to open it up to the good people of Dribbble to help me out - please let me know in the comments which concept you like more.

Although these are fictitious logos, the 'client' is in the tattoo industry.

Which do you prefer and why? Is there a stronger choice? Are gradients dead?
