The left bar is a little odd, and so is the sideways logo. Hard to recognize what site it was without reading what you wrote or searching for the logo.
Why not put the logo up top over the navigation, and then put the user account/avatar under the logo with the navigation under all of that?
@Jon Gold gotcha. I would agree that it's not very contrasty (is that a word?). But wanted to keep all focus on the cards so everything else (except branding) is very subtle. In my opinion it's right on the edge of being too light (but on the right side of the edge) but totally understand if it crosses the line for others.
I must agree on the shadows. The overall design is amazing clean, the shadows feel different. Why use that drop-shadow anyway? You didn't design the "heart ribbon" with depth either.

The home view from my design of Shopilly, a socially driven shopping site. See full view in the attachment.
Also, don't miss the case study for the Shopilly project on my portfolio.

Agree with @JAWA₯ that sidebar is super-awesome!!
I'm not too keen on the dark shadows under each item though. I'd fade them more personally. Or even bring them much closer to the item (less lifted).

Looks lovely - I wonder if the contrast—while sexy—is too low though?

@Jon Gold Do you mean the contrast on "inbox, stores, .."etc? Or just overall contrast?
@Luke Etheridge I like the shadows, they are amazing.
@Ryan O. Hicks I think the sidebar with the sideways logo is excellent ;)

The drop shadow on each item is a little harsh for me. Lightening it up would benefit the overall effect I think.

I like everything except the depth of the shadows. I'd lower down the opacity to make it looks cleaner. Other than that, great job!!
