I thought it'll be a cool experience if text didn't appear directly on the image but rather bellow and a blurred background to fade out the distraction so your eyes can focus on the photo itself. Obviously i do not have the data to back that this approach is the best experience. Twitter have an exceptional group of talented designers who are more equipped to make the call. enjoy this shoot :)
Compare it to the see the current viewer ... thoughts ?

Much better, @@design should take a look at this!
@Gustaf Zetterlund thanks !
nice design...plus the chick. :D
thats pretty cool
good job :)
i kinda like the new look ... nicely done
Absolutely! I find the current viewer so bizarre how it's boxed in when you're viewing the large view.
The blurred background is a cool idea, but how would you do that in HTML/CSS?
nice! i especially love the location and close x above the image. looks super clean.
@Mathew Sanders I would like to think it's possible.. Thanks !
Thanks a lot guys !
yea great idea.
@Matthew Sanders it's possible w/ things like blur.js.
@Alaxic Smith blur.js = wow :)
Yeah I agree, the current overlay is really obtrusive. But in mobile/tablet having the option to view a full screen photo without the description is nice.
Make the background a little darker. :)
