I was totally down for a self challenge, to use the already gorgeous UI of Simple and spice it up to something I'd love to see. Credit goes to the designer @Ian Collins or whoever was a genius for choosing the main colors and/or anything else that looks familiar to the already designed site.
I don't work for Simple. Well, if owning an account with them counts, then I guess I do.

It's so purty.
whoa, love how fonts interact with each other. nice!
Thank you for buying our CleanMyMac! :)
Everything you make is perfection
Nice idea, visually this UI looks great! And I'm totally down when folks take a brand and apply their own style + design decisions for fun or practice.
But there's something 'off' about this and I think it's the flat style. It's just doesn't look trustworthy.
The polish and attention to detail in Simple's brand and UI make me feel at ease when I hand over my paycheck. I don't want to get in a design style debate, but I think Simple's official design language does a better job at saying 'trustworthy'. Probably important for a bank :)
Don't mean to be a jerk, this looks like it was fun to create!
@Ted Goas Telling me "there's something 'off'" doesn't really give me the best idea of how to make it rather more trustworthy. It's for sure not the flat style because if I applied layer styles I don't think it would make someone say, "Damn I love that gradient, totally blowing some cash today."
Simple has gained respect and trust which makes them so trustworthy, their design adds onto it which is great. Lovely design I must add.
Out of curiosity, I checked out your style/work. I saw you had this little Simple UI bit as well (http://cl.ly/NV8Z) it's pretty nice. However, if you were concerned about making it so trustworthy, then you wouldn't include it in a Metro design style.
I know you're not being a "jerk". But my point is, yes design makes things more appealing but I don't think that plays the biggest role in trustworthiness.
@Bobby Giangeruso I think design plays a big role in trustworthiness, so our difference in opinion seems to start there.
My opinion can be boiled down to this: flat style with washed out colors doesn't provoke enough trust for something like a bank.
It looked like you were designing the actual app itself (rather than a widget), which led me to question the style choice. My work that you pointed to is a widget for Simple, not the Simple product itself.
More textures = MOAR TRUST, donchu know?
Solid work, son ;D
@Haziq Mir father, is that you?
@Bobby Giangeruso Yes. *sigh*
We should spend more time together.
@Haziq Mir you're the one who.. *pause*.. abandoned my family.
why is it so perfect!
Love your work Bobby !
