Switch is the code name we are using for this app we are working on that quickly lets you find great food to eat and places to stay / work near you. First time users would be instructed to swipe to the left or to the right to refresh the list below. Hopefully after that it will become natural.
Still a heavy work in progress and the colors on the gif are a bit off so check out the attachment and let me know what you think.
Looks very cool. Have you tested this in an HTML prototype yet? Would be curious to see how it feels; specifically, how obvious it is to the user that other restaurants are viewable via swipe.
@Adam Blair to answer your questions: 1. Most likely the overlay will extend according to the length of the text. 2. You will be able to swipe at all levels, there will be no back button on the app. 3. Not quite happy but already got a solution :) Thanks for the feedback.
Wow! Some nice memories from the Caribe Hilton. That's where I kissed my wife for the first time ever, some 8 years ago. As always, nice work and animation.
You are ridiculous; this is some pretty amazing work. Loving the animation effects. Kind of reminds me of one of them fancy billboards in Japan that change the image by spinning the tiles. It's really cool.
Business-wise I want that app, design-wise it looks really fancy but I don't really like the nav bar, it doesn't look as slick as the rest of the screen.

That interaction is kickass :) only not sure about the combination of those colors - even in the attachment. But still great work :)

Very slick & smooth animations, takes me back to my flash days on getting the right ease & transition timing.
Some things to consider...
What happens if the Restaurant or Hotel name is longer, does the black overlay change size?
Will I be able to swipe at all levels in this manner or just between hotel & restaurants?
Are you happy with the list view animations when there isn't a full list of data?

Looks really nice and smooth for fast navigation, I look forward to the app!
It's great with rich interactivity in apps, and I miss it from the power we have in smartphones these days.
