I think you could get away with something a little fancier for the ampersand. Something about 70% the other character height, aligned vertical center, in a medium weight serif italic. I know it's subjective right, but that's just what I imagined right away.
As for the mark, I like it. Is there a reason it's in 3 sections? I see the arrow, but is the whole shape representative of an ember? The orange works well and I like the tight spacing on the sans.
@Jeremy Elder- Thanks man! I like that idea, I'll give it a shot. I wasn't in love with the ampersand the way it was but just wasn't sure what to do with it. I'll definitely try something like you suggested. It is in three parts to try to distinguish the arrow, and the background shape as an ember. Also, a lowercase "e" and a lowercase "a" can be made from the shape (sort of an easter egg find ;) )
I played with the ampersand a little bit as suggested by @Jeremy Elder. I'm not sure if I like the italicized version better or not so I put both options on here.

Totally agree with @Jeremy Elder. Usually ampersands are subject to that kind of creativity.
