To be honest I don't think the wood effect and flat vector style work very well together... With a background like that, I'd expect something a little more photoreal, or if the intention is to keep things a little more vector-style - drop out the wood grain background?
@Adam Whitcroft I thought people might have some problem with that, but that's what I wanted to do, and I'm going to stick with it for now. It has a strong tie-in with the app itself which has a wooden background, so it intentional :)
Diggin' the concept a lot. Trying to figure out if the glow on the halo needs to be there or not. Seems distracting for me. I think the concept would still sing without it. I like the woodgrain for what that's worth.
I like the concept here. I would make the beer glass seem as if it was burned into the wood, while leaving the foam and halo as is, creating more tension in the icon.
The halo shows more three dimensional depth than the glass, because the glass is opaque. Is that intentional? Maybe it would help unify the two elements?

Something I'm working on with Mason Stewart for Barley's.

Ah well, disregard :) Sorry, had no idea of the context it was being used.

Maybe have the angel-like ring cast a glow on the wood behind it? :)

I would love to see some of those bubbles ascending into the halo! Probably completely irrelevant though!! @Matthew Smith

I feel like darker wood would help the color of the beer stand out more. Right now it feels like they're close and competing.
