THE TIMES OF INDIA FILM AWARDS - 'TOIFA 2013' - VANCOUVER. THE BIGGEST BOLLYWOOD EVENT OF THE YEAR!
So check this out... I had the honor of being approached by The Times of India -- the biggest English newspaper on earth-- to build a brand identity (including the design of the statue/trophy) for their unprecedented TOIFA 2013 film awards... And serve as Creative Director. THE EVENT WILL BE IN VANCOUVER APRIL 6TH. Every A-Lister will be there... Shahrukh Khan, A. Bhachan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katirna, Priyanka Chopra, you name it. I am going to share some behind the scenes images of the making of the brand identity and sculpting the statue.

Congratulations on completing such project:)
Wow these is so gooooooood congrats!!
Nice nice nice @Raja Sandhu
Oh wow! So this is what you've been up to. That life size version that you are standing next to is crazy! Can't imagine the feeling you probably had as you walked up to it.
A beautiful logo! congrats :)
beautiful piece of work, @Raja Sandhu . great coverage also. congrats, man. nicely done, sir.
Finally on Dribbble.
Excellent project Raja.
Is it the logo-turned-statue or the statue-turned-logo? Great plastique!
100% class. Great work @Raja Sandhu!
What else a designer want more than this? He designs something with a such a care and love behind it, and watching whole world appreciate the beauty, hundreds of media people and photographer capturing this beauty. I stand nowhere to justify your work @Raja Sandhu, you're a great inspiration for me.
congrats @Raja Sandhu for the opportunity you get to design for such a BIG BRAND!! You've that talent and you deserve it .. hats off!!
Congrats, Raja. The client is the real winner of the TOIFA award.
Exceptional work as always.
Well done Raja, much deserved recognition for a quality designer. Must be a buzz seeing it come to life like that!
Thank you all so much - Yes it's been great to see a lot of hard work come larger than life. Surreal. The Times of India Group has been great to work with and have given me quite the journey.
I'm working on a mini-documentary for a behind the scenes 'Making the brand' kind of thing that could get broadcast to over 1Billion people (the expected TV audience of the event).
I really appreciate the kind words and I am sure TOIFA will too, who really went out on a limb hiring a Canadian designer who was more of a Hollywood fan.
@Yury Akulin Good question. I was given both assignments a head of time so what changed was that while I did start this out as a flat one colour logo, I had a concurrent stream of thought that was always visualizing a 3dimensional trophy. I had to keep in mind things like ergonomics, weight, stacking, etc... with these additional parameters, I had to 'scale back' on the graphic design much more than I normally do.
As I said before, excellent work brother!
@Gert van Duinen appreciated big man
Man... top notch work. How did i not see this before.
You always deliver such inspiring and high class work Raja, congrats on this amazing project!
@Richard de Ruijter thank you my man
I didn't expect anything less from you Raja, this is really impressive! and the 3D awards look amazing!
