    THE TIMES OF INDIA FILM AWARDS - 'TOIFA 2013' - VANCOUVER. THE BIGGEST BOLLYWOOD EVENT OF THE YEAR!

    So check this out... I had the honor of being approached by The Times of India -- the biggest English newspaper on earth-- to build a brand identity (including the design of the statue/trophy) for their unprecedented TOIFA 2013 film awards... And serve as Creative Director. THE EVENT WILL BE IN VANCOUVER APRIL 6TH. Every A-Lister will be there... Shahrukh Khan, A. Bhachan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katirna, Priyanka Chopra, you name it. I am going to share some behind the scenes images of the making of the brand identity and sculpting the statue.

    Thank you all so much - Yes it's been great to see a lot of hard work come larger than life. Surreal. The Times of India Group has been great to work with and have given me quite the journey.

    I'm working on a mini-documentary for a behind the scenes 'Making the brand' kind of thing that could get broadcast to over 1Billion people (the expected TV audience of the event).

    I really appreciate the kind words and I am sure TOIFA will too, who really went out on a limb hiring a Canadian designer who was more of a Hollywood fan.

    @Yury Akulin Good question. I was given both assignments a head of time so what changed was that while I did start this out as a flat one colour logo, I had a concurrent stream of thought that was always visualizing a 3dimensional trophy. I had to keep in mind things like ergonomics, weight, stacking, etc... with these additional parameters, I had to 'scale back' on the graphic design much more than I normally do.
