I don't know, maybe it's just personal preference but I've always found condensed typefaces to be extremely hard to read in smaller font sizes. I think they are fine as headers for HOME, ADVERTISING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, etc. in the footer. However, for the actual links, maybe stick to the default sans serif you are using for content descriptions.
Another 2 cents taste thing, I hate when the navigation arrows cut into a picture, so I like to make them transparentish...also the arrows look really large in side the circle. It may also help as you go through each slide to have an indication of your progress somewhere. Either 1/4 or indication dots. Assuming it loops.
I like it thus far though...coming along great.
I love the layout and style you are using. One thing I think would be really awesome is to just use simple colored "Associate" above all of the "Student your name your date" rather than the top right ribbon. This will do 2 things, keep the photo clean, and draw the users attention to reading more about the particular student.
Wish I knew the goals/objectives of this page to give further input related to that. Visually it's fairly stunning already
