@Robin Calling Tweetie 2 the best client when it's still mostly rumour is jumping the gun a bit early. Personally, I still haven't found the perfect client, though Mike Rundle's Beak came awfully close.
In any case, I respect your decision of course, but I sure hope you're not "scared off" by apps that aren't available. Each app has its strengths & weaknesses, even the fabled Tweetie 2 and Twitterrific 4.
Tweetie 2 has long been promised by Loren but it seems about as likely as The Hit List ever coming out of Beta. Has he made any announcements to the contrary in the past six months?
I love the UI direction here. I'm sure the team has great reasons for canceling the app, but I agree with Max - it's silly to can the project because two other apps are eventually going to see release. Unless they both launch tomorrow with the Mac App Store, there could still be significant development time remaining in each case.
I stand corrected! Twitter for Mac looks to be BEAUTIFUL. I'm still a die hard fan of Tweetie so I'm thrilled about the update. Now... what's this about the iPhone Hit List? Where did this info come from?

Shame you didn't pursue this. It looks like it could of been one of the better Twitter clients.

I still like it (even if I'd preferred an always-visible list management).
But it does exist enough source code to opensource it? ;)

@John I think it's a niche market... especially when Tweetie 2 (the best client for Mac) comes along.

@Robin Trouble is, I think we'll be waiting a long time for Tweetie 2. Unless you know something we don't?

@John Twitterriffic 4 is due out soon also. It just wasn't a viable option for us.

Actually I don't like the black menu. The other stuff is really nice!

@Josh The Hit List is in fact coming out of beta. Cloud sync is flawless and the iPhone app is a few weeks from 1.0
@Max They aren't fabled. I have Twitterriffic 4, which is in beta, and know people who have Tweetie 2 :P
Either way, thanks for your feedback.

Looks like you did know something I didn't :) I understand now why you chose not to complete this project.
