Some thoughts on this one:

1. The adult floating in space gives him some real strong weightless vibes which is a big part of this as there is no gravity in space or on the ship.

2. the child planet with the fetus represents the young being sent down on there own but also the planet being the re-birth of the human rase.

3. Due to the style and colors the adult looks almost stone-like which could represent that they are the old outdated humans.
