If you need to create dummy bar charts in Fireworks, you can take a Greeked Text auto shape and turn it on its side to quickly create rectangles with random heights: http://johndunning.com/fireworks/about/GreekedText
You can drag the yellow handles to add or remove bars, and make them taller or shorter. You can drag the blue handles to control the bar width, spacing and randomness.
