Hi folks, here is first share from this new exciting project.
What you see here is first approach to vertical nav. Scroll page up/down and it follows you... The icons are going to be improved. Feedbacks are much appreciated as always.
@Avinash Tripathi User will be educated in first few visits anyway, and will know what icon means what. So I didn't want to make it too strong. However I will give it a second look with testing different backgrounds. Thanks,
Very nice simple approach Oykun, you stated the icons will be improved.
I think the messages/mail icon looks fine and the colour on the notification draws attention to it as well.
I guess the data icon is generally accepted/understood by your audience. Could be files or attachments as well perhaps?
The media icon is quite unclear though, at first I thought it was a camera with some weird arrow next to it. The tasks icon looks good, you could consider putting a date in it instead of a checkmark. Grey text when it's all fine and dandy, red when there are overdue tasks?
The overview icon looks fine too, other than being a bit blurry.
What's with the buoy under it? Is it a functional help button?
@Jorde Vorstenbosch thanks for giving time for such detailed feedback! I will give it a second look to those with your notes. btw, the buoy is for collecting feedback at the moment.
Fantastic idea consolidating the nav into icons with tooltips. Only thing I'd be mindful of is that after each user get accustomed to the icons and what they stand for, having the tooltip appear might get annoying. But that's minor, love the direction!
@Ted Goas I was thinking to give ability to turn off that tooltips after 5-6 logins. A message appears "Hey, you are familiar with icons and no need those tooltips, right? - Yes - No" :) Thanks btw.
I like this style @Oykun. :) One feedback question - are we on the first or the second navigation point? The mixture of the lighter color on second point and the arrow on first is confusing me a little. Other than that I understand it. :)

Try to make the very first icon (thumbs + listage) with a very subtle round border to match the rest of the icons. ;)
Looks promising though!

I really dig it, good work. I echo Avinash's suggestion to make the overlay a little darker, though.
