I'm working on the site design for the Christianity StackExchange site as it's about to graduate from beta soon. This is my first full draft after a few different directions.
There's a lot of challenges with inventing this design, and I'm not sure I've nailed it yet. I'd love to hear your input.
The real question here is, does this make you think of "Christianity" when you see it?

I think the fish by the name definitely helps! I think this looks good - clean design :) and I like the blue also. I think without the fish it would have taken me longer to so the Christianity, but with it, I got it right away. Hope that helps!
Yes. The name and fish makes me think of christianity. However, I'm not quite sure if your color palette is working well together. Also, the sky in the background seems a bit rudimentary. I would try to use different imagery with a more saturated color palette; it's a bit off. Do you have screenshots of the other versions?
Looks great for the most part! And I didn't know there was such thing as a Christianity StackExchange; that's pretty awesome. I think the weakest part is the header area. I think the blue clouds are too saturated and contrast too much with the rest of the site, and the thick, shadowed capital sans-serif doesn't seem to quite fit either. I generally like the simple Helvetica header on the current site more, though a serif style could work as well.
