Working on a gig poster for an upcoming show in Chicago. Which version do you like better? I'm having a tough time deciding. Is it too busy with the bridge?

I think I'd have to see the entire design, but I'm swaying to the one on the right. I definitely knew it was Chicago-related once I saw the bridge and the Brown (or Purple) Line.

what if the bridge was less opaque? i like the bridge, but its so dark that it becomes too prominent. maybe just a faint bridge so the attention isnt drawn from the swimmer and bottle...

i agree with holly, without the full comp its hard to make the call, if the poster was 11x17, i would rise the bridge up much higher, its a strong illustration, but i think its strength and where its positioned, you lose the very thin lined bottle.

I think the one on the right could work if she was scaled down. The proportion of her to the bridge seems strange. I would say the same with the one on the left. The bottle looks like it's half the size of her body. Doesn't have to be exactly proportionate, but right now it feels weird.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.. I'll make some changes and upload the poster with the whole composition.... Maybe that will help.

  7. Still would love to hear feedback and if you have a favorite or if you have suggestions to make it better. I took out the floating bottle, there was no reason for it and was just a distraction.
