Why are you taking the limitations of a physical calculator over to a digital one?
When entering calculations I want to see the calculation. I maybe even want to edit the first number in a long equation.
There is no reason not to enable this.
I love the concept and the flat style to this, but there are a few things I wish could be fixed.
1. The = button has more styling than the rest, and looks awkward next to the others.
2. The icons on the function buttons (not numbers) are all different sizes. For example, the - is tiny while the % is huge. They should all be equal size.
3. The bottom of the calculator has some strange styling going on. I wish it could be flat and cut to be the same as the top part, which would match the flat style that you're going for.
Other than these little things I noticed, I really like this. Good work :)
nice layout but have to agree with others about the red button. IMO should also be flat.
One more small thing: the minus on the "+ -" button is 1 or 2px thicker then the + sign. :)
ps: Nitpicking now :D also the "x" is a letter. I'd take the "+" and flip it 90°.
Then the "/" has a different angle then the slash in "%" and it's also larger (height).
Obviously I know how a calculator is usually layed out but this is a different take on the normal calculator. The not normal horizontal mega wide screen calculcator for those extra long sums. Did I mention that it is completely flat too! For those of you who do not have number pads on the right hand side this is cleverly layed out like a qwerty keyboard...

Just a simple calculator widget, I created. Feel free to rebound something similar.
