A few days ago I did a quick (unofficial) redesign of the WordPress upload modal. I use it a few times a week with my blog and always find it lacking in visual polish and ease of use.
Lots more to do with it as this really only touches on the visual side of things, but I'm happy with where this positions me to tackle the bigger interaction problems I find with the uploader.
Sexy as heck! My only grunt would be the distance from the tabs to the "select file" button. I'd almost rather see it up in the heading section. Im a lazy mouse mover :)
This redesign looks absolutely lovely, however: it lacks visual consistency with the rest of the app's interface. I think it would go a long way toward making it look like part of the app if you used the same tab style the rest of the interfaces use. Is your tab style better? Yes, but it just doesn't fit.
Looks "pretty" but I'm afraid it's not much of a redesign. The biggest gripe isn't that the modal window and interface isn't attractive, it's that the media uploader and management system is extremely flawed and difficult to use. I understand your limitations on time, but perhaps there should be a decent effort to design the right solution, then hand it over to the WP core devs and see what they can do about it. ;)
Chris: I agree, it's just a starting point. I called that out a few times, but I should have been clearer and perhaps avoided the "redesign" label in favor of "realign." I have some thoughts on how to evolve this to be a redesign of the interactions, and I really want to get to them, but that'll have to wait just a bit :).

Well, that definitely looks much better! And Helvetica Neue is so sexy with WP ...

Agree with Jakub. This should be implemented.

I like this; particularly the single blue button. This screen has always stood out as something of an afterthought.

Cool! Maybe you can contribute this to the WP core and it'll become an official part of WordPress. That would be awesome.

Regardless, awesome shot.
