I like it. It goes with your simple design.
Are you planning to create classes for each line that tabs in? 24ways did it, and I think I might go that route as well.
@Dan: Thanks! Been waiting to get in here for a while! haha
@Jake: Yeah, didn't really look closely at theirs. They are doing it well though! padding-left to get it "tabbed" over and a negative text-indent on the first line. That way when it wraps, it doesn't start all the way to the line numbers. Gonna have to play around with that.
Also, not really a fan of the "breaking out" part of the line numbering anymore. Kinda strays from the simplicity a bit. It was also wider than the article text. Think I'll be rebounding this one...
This definitely comes off clean, but to me the most important part about providing code snippets is to make it as readable as possible and (more importantly) as portable as possible. Two suggestions: syntax highlighting (custom color scheme) and make sure the line numbers do not copy and paste with the code.
