Concept for a make-up artist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I added some swashes to Bodoni to make the logo a bit more fanciful and custom. I simply live-traced some swashes I liked - any advice as to how to make geometrically perfect swashes and flourishes?

try rounding them out with pen tool (mah fave). i usually just eyeball it. after i get the forms the way i like 'em, i expand the object. that's usually what works best for me.
have you tried messin' with the width tool? it takes a while to get the hang of, but it's fun and you can get a bunch of cool weight contrasts.
also, try pulling the swash from the e out farther (or further, whichever one is grammatically correct) to the left. that way, "red lip artistry" will be more balanced. also, have you tried pulling the swash from the L up and over? i think that since the p has a descender, a swash going up and over will be nice. lookin' good so far!
Awesome! Thank you for the thorough feedback Liping! I appreciate it! :D
